akimbo.jpg/ Akimbo is a decent sized, 111 channels, download site. Most of its content comes from cable providers like CNN or Discovery. It does have some shows from the BBC and is currently pushing Fawlty Towers , a lot. Another portion of its content is original internet videos from sites like Rocketboom.com and iFilm, but you can get the same content directly from their sites. Rocketboom.com is a sometimes funny video blog about entertainment news and iFlim is a huge site with lots of music videos and shorts. It might be useful having Akimbo gathering the web originals in one place.

Akimbo is a combo subscription pay as you go site. There is a $10 monthly fee that only gets you free content everything else is a per download fee. Sometimes these fees can be pretty high. Akimbo appears to be marketing itself to the TV set crowd by selling a box to use its service, but downloads are available for a computer running Windows.
