Top 10 Reasons To Check Out iTunes TV

OK, a few days ago I bashed iTunes' programming, or lack thereof, pretty hard. I also promised at Top 10 list of the shows I think are really making the iTunes TV selection stand out from the competition.

I must admit, this programming feature is pretty new to iTunes and inasmuch has lots of room to grow. But, there are some serious standouts already listed on the site. If the programs currently available are just a start, this service can and only will get better. Just like iTunes' music store, this will be the place to go for the latest, hottest titles in TV.

Without further adieu, here are my Top 10 picks:

10.) "Law & Order" Fans of this show will watch it over and over again and missing an episode just won't do. Thanks to iTunes, they don't have to.

9.) "The Office" I haven't gotten into this one, but it's clearly creating a ton of buzz. Kudos to iTunes for picking it up.

8.) "Avatar: The Last Air Bender" This is one heck of a cartoon with an incredibly engrossing storyline and wonderful imagery. My 6-year-old and I love to check it out when it's on and we can catch it.

7.) "ADAM - 12" Come on, who didn't love this one?

6.) "The A - Team" I pity the fool ...

5.) "Monk" Aren't we all a little Monkish now and again?

4.) "Desperate Housewives" This is a huge title with a huge following. With a video game even on the way, this one's showing no signs of slowing down.

3.) Sports programming. There is simply too much to list. Smart move on iTunes part to include this in the TV section's infancy. Sports fans are passionate about seeing games, races and match ups themselves; thanks to this service they can at their leisure.

I have to admit, my number 2 and 1 choices are a big toss up. So, look at these in no particular order.

"South Park" We all need a little laugh now and again and who can deliver it better than Cartman?

"Lost" This series is different, intriguing and flat out confusing! If you miss an episode, you miss a lot. No need to fall behind thanks to iTunes.

While iTunes and other downloadable services have a long way to go to really impress the masses, they are well on their way to doing just that. Ease of use, on-demand mentality and ever-increasing variety of shows are a winning combination in this fast-paced get it when you can world.
