MoboVivo Emphasis On Technology

By Sherri

As Canada's new downloadable television content service MoboVivo gets its feet wet in the marketplace, the company is putting a strong emphasis on customer service through technology.
Starting out recently with what's been described as a "soft launch," MoboVivo is using its initial months to continue to add to its content, further develop its technology and work to ensure content provided is what customers want, explained Trevor Doerksen, the company’s CEO.
Aside from offering worldwide downloads, the company stands out as different thanks to its Rapid Repurposing Technology. This technology has been designed basically to "resolve the format wars," while allowing growth "into the future as more and more variables are introduced."
We don't know everything," explained Doerksen during a recent interview with TeevBlogger.
RRT will enable MoboVivo's servers to meet current customer demands to deliver content to various platforms and is designed to work with technology that might come down the pipeline in the future, as well. As it stands now, the number of different platforms content can be delivered to is amazing, and Doerksen expects it will only continue to expand.
Consumers also use an array of programs to view downloads, including QuickTime, Real, Windows Media and so on, with iPods, computers, cell phones, PlayStation Portables and more all acting as the delivery systems. RTT will help MoboVivo make sure it can handle the multiple plaforms of tdoay and tomorrow, he said.
"They can ask for it, and the servers can do it."
This is the second in a three-part series about MoboVivo. In the next, and final installment, we'll look at the future for MoboVivo and the download industry as a whole.
