Wii Will Change Online TV

By Sherri
As downloadable movies and television rise in popularity, it seems CNN is getting into the act, but adding a spin to what its counterparts at networks, such as NBC, have done.Rather than go with what is now considered the "traditional mode" of getting content out to viewers in a new way, a la iTunes, CNN's fired up to provide the content for the Wii news channel.
This is a great move by CNN and it's also great news for those who like to get their TV and movies in a different way. The inclusion of the channels on Wii fit the console's overall quirky design, and add to what makes it different from its two competitors - the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
According to reports, the CNN news bits will be available for Wii buyers in America and Japan. News will come by category, but users can also spin a globe to find country-specific content.
There's also some talk of a new round of Wiis coming with DVD playback ability, but time will tell on that one.
A full listing of Wii's intended channels can be found here.
