'Firefly' MMO Could Put Fans In The Action

By Sherri
Fans of Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” have been clamoring for more ever since “Serenity” hit the big screen leaving more questions than answers.Multiverse Network has announced it’s garnered the rights to create a MMO based on the TV show, which can be found on iTunes, and now it’s a question of whether or not the fan base will rally around this new idea to keep the Verse alive.
As a major Whedon fan and a gamer, I’m personally looking forward to this release, but I do have to wonder how popular it will be with an estimated release date of 2008.
That’s a long time between the 2005 movie and the canceled television show. Still, Whedon fans are pretty loyal and many likely will be willing to take whatever they can get to see this world survive.
Plus, on the bonus side, the “Firefly” universe is ripe with the kinds of storylines necessary to make a great MMO.
If you haven’t checked out “Firefly” or “Serenity,” they are very much worth the look. Check out the TV show first though. The movie is much more fun to watch after the episodes!

I'm working on tracking news on this on fireflymmo.com.
Great site, Drew!
I hope it really helps generate some buzz about this. The "Firefly" storyline could lend itself to being one of the best (and most different) MMOs going, but it will need fans to survive.
